Shades of Brown

Hello All!

My next two blog posts will have a theme, Simplicity 8529 + Erin Pouch. If you missed my first post on these fabulous items, you can click here for the recap. Today I’m wearing view B of the Toaster sweater in this yummy brown Ponte knit that I purchased from Fine Fabrics. I think I mention in one of my previous posts that I sewed this sweater by Sew House Seven before during the SewMyStyle challenge. You can find that post here. My goal was to make all views of this pattern, but I haven’t gotten around to view D yet. The same is true for the neckline that I stated in my previous post, I will definitely be cutting a larger neck line for view D. I love this top because it has a band around the bottom of the top and for some reason I am in love with that style.

This very sexy pencil skirt has one seam in the back. I purchased this double knit fabric from Fine Fabrics many moons ago and unfortunately they haven’t restocked. You can find a YouTube tutorial by Mimi G here on how to make this skirt here. Whenever I need to get my sewjo back or I just need a quick skirt, this is my go to because of the one seam, then all you have left is the elastic waistband and hem.

Now on to the Erin Pouch. If you missed receiving this free pattern, you can find it here. There is also a step-by-step video tutorial for those of you that are like me and need to see the process. You can find that video here. If you don’t sew and would like to purchase the pouch, there are several options in the online store over on the LeJanaroB Collection tab.

I used a natural cork that I purchased from sewsweetness.com. I am in love with this cork fabric and I plan to make two more using a black and chocolate brown cork. The possibilities are endless! The red top zipper gives the pouch a pop of color, which makes it stand out even more.
