McCall’s 7912

Hello all! It’s been awhile since I have done a blog post. My back is feeling better, so I have been able to get back to the sewing machine. I wanted to get my sewjo back, so I started with McCall’s 6886 using a brown Ponte knit. I know you can’t see much of the dress but that’s OK since it fits kind of snug. I cut a 16 but I could go with an 18 or 20 if I decide to make it again anytime soon.

The jacket is McCall’s 7912. When I was getting ready to take pictures of this look, I thought the jacket looked like a smoker’s jacket and the Heavy D song popped in my head! Lol! I used an animal print fabric that I found in the remnant section at Fine Fabrics. This fabric does not have very much stretch, so it is not a knit. I’m not actually sure what type of fabric this is. It has a backing on it like a light weight interfacing.

Overall, I enjoyed sewing both patterns. Once Fall rolls around again I may make McCall’s 7912 again in a Ponte knit fabric. Have you made this pattern?
