Rosa Dress DIBY Club Pattern

Hello all!

I had the opportunity to review another DIBY Club PDF pattern! This time I am reviewing the Rosa dress, which can be made as a top, knee length or maxi length dress. That is the first plus of this pattern, you can use it in all seasons! You can also create several different outfits. Just like the Stevie Jumpsuit, the instructions for the pattern read like an eBook. At the beginning you have the table of contents, which is very helpful if you only need a certain section of the instructions. My suggestion is to read through the instructions before starting and you will see all of the great tips, techniques, and tricks DIBY Club patterns have to offer. *Post contains affiliate links*

One technique that I try to avoid at any cost is gathering and this pattern has some gathering for the skirt. One of the reasons I love DIBY Club patterns is they take techniques that I feel are difficult and make them easier to understand. In the past my gathering would be a fail but not this time, they were perfect! I was jumping for joy when I realized what I had been doing wrong all this time and also that fact that I will not be avoiding gathering anymore.

I love that the front of the skirt gives you a wrap style and it dips slightly lower in the back. This is a great design element that makes this dress a hit! I used a lightweight sweater knit that I purchased from Fine Fabrics. I found this fabric in the remnant section for less than $5. If you are ever in the Atlanta area, please do yourself a favor and stop by Fine Fabrics. Even though I love the way the dress turned out, I think that I will use a solid light weight knit fabric next time. I think it will show off the design elements of the pattern better.
