In Love with Pencil Skirts

Hello all! Happy hump day! I know that you don’t get to see me in many skirts here on the blog, but I love a good pencil skirt. This particular pencil skirt has a split on both sides. I made this skirt a while ago and I put it in the plastic summer bin and forgot about it. While I was changing out the winter clothes for summer clothes, I found this red skirt as well as a black version of the skirt.

I used Butterick 3460, which is a misses’ elastic waist skirts, shorts, and pants. Of course, you know I love it because it has an elastic waistband lol! You can add a drawstring, but I have a love/hate relationship with drawstrings. I used a red ponte knit that I purchased from Fine Fabrics.

I decided to pair the skirt with the Love graphic tee from Old Navy, I love all of Old Navy graphic tees because they have a variety of designs with a variety of quotes. I think I tried to buy them all!

This pattern is very beginner friendly and I highly recommend it because of the various options for spring and summer. I definitely want to make the pants as well as the shorts for this pattern. Happy Sewing!
